Dresden, the capital of the state of Saxony in Germany, is a business location of international significance in the field of microelectronics. Leading semiconductor businesses, including AMD and Infineon, have settled in the north of the city since 1991 in addition to traditional companies such as the Zentrum für Mikroelektronik (ZMD).

The company headquarters of SOLARWATT AG is in the data.base business park in the north of Dresden.

Between 2003 and 2006, a total of 20,000 m² of production, warehouse and office space was built in three construction phases.

The fourth phase of construction started in December 2009, close to the company headquarters, to create an ultra-modern logistics center. This center started operating in September 2010.

Simultaneously, SOLARWATT launched world's most modern solar module production plant.
